How We Evaluate Excellence

The Uganda Elite Brands Awards (UEBA) uses a clear and rigorous framework to evaluate nominees across all categories. Our criteria reflect national priorities, community impact, and the spirit of Buy Uganda Build Uganda (BUBU).

Each nominee is assessed based on the following pillars:

Local Relevance & BUBU Alignment 🇺🇬

 Demonstrates commitment to Ugandan-made products, services, or solutions
 Sources materials, talent, or innovation locally
 Strengthens Uganda’s economic independence and identity

Innovation & Creativity 💡

 Introduces new ideas, technologies, or approaches
 Solves local challenges with scalable, forward-thinking solutions
 Applies AI, digital tools, or design thinking in impactful ways

Impact & Transformation 🌍

 Creates measurable change in communities, sectors, or institutions
 Empowers youth, women, or underserved populations
 Builds sustainable systems or models for long-term growth

Quality & Excellence 🏅

 Upholds high standards in delivery, branding, and customer experience
 Demonstrates consistency, professionalism, and ethical practices
 Recognized by peers, clients, or regulators for outstanding performance

Leadership & Vision 🧭

 Shows strategic direction and future-readiness
 Inspires others through mentorship, collaboration, or advocacy
 Builds legacy institutions or movements beyond personal gain

Additional Criteria for Manufacturing & Industrial Innovation

 Value addition through local transformation of raw materials
 Job creation and skills development
 Compliance with national and international standards
 Use of sustainable or smart manufacturing practices

Additional Criteria for AI for Good Impact Award

 AI used ethically and inclusively
 Demonstrated benefit in education, health, or prosperity
 Locally developed or adapted AI tools
 Collaboration with Ugandan institutions or communities
